f you're a returning visitor, you may be surprised to find yourself looking at a completely changed and entirely generic webpage, devoid of the decorations that have dressed this site for the last several years.

Well, I'm undergoing something of a change in direction at the moment.

Being a build-it-yourselfer, I've always enjoyed creating things from the ground up, but in recent years I've found that I've very little free time. Saying that I still enjoy design and development is a gross understatement and I'm not about to give up my work in this area. Likewise, I continue to enjoy sharing my code and thoughts about code with others. So, since less free time means less opportunity to work on these pleasures, I'm dumping the site, which continued to be a work in progress, in favor of the well established and much accepted practice of blogging (better late than never, I suppose).

I haven't exactly abandoned my intentions with this site; with time I may still get everything in order, but for now I've severed the ties (shared article library) between CodingMonk and OnyxRing and I'll be working to restore some of the eye candy that clothed this site previously while adding content as it comes to me.
